A Day in the Life of a PCOS Sufferer

University has welcomed me to meet people from all walks of life. However the people who have really made an impact in my life are those suffering with the same problem I have done day in day out.
Excessive hair has plagued me since my early teens. I’ve tried every method of hair removal known to man! Waxing, shaving, plucking, creams, threading the list goes on! My war scars from waxing and the burns I’ve received remind me every day of how desperate I was to remove this problem from my life forever. I was first diagnosed with PCOS in my early teens and the hair growth side effect has constantly been a burden.

“But now I’m in control”

I’ve always hidden my embarrassing problem with long layered clothing but with summer months approaching and living on university campus, I wanted to have the freedom of wearing what I want when I want without this condition holding me back.

A few friends of mine mentioned Laser Hair Removal and how their results were life changing just after a few treatments. They experienced less frequent hair growth and didn’t have to worry about removing hairs every other day.

I instantly began researching on clinics in Berkshire which had the most reputable name and best patient outcomes. There were many that caught my eye but when I rang to enquire, I was put off by several clinics, which seemed to me just wanted to sell me their services and be done with me!

I was in Reading town centre with some friends and walked by the Chiltern Medical Clinic. I did a quick research on my phone to make sure they offered Laser Hair Removal and bit the bullet and headed towards their reception.

Instantly, I felt welcomed and at ease at how prestige and bright their clinic looked. The two receptionists greeted me with wonderful smiles and didn’t rush me into telling them what treatment I was after. We conversed for a few minutes and then I revealed to them the stress I had been under all these years. They were extremely sympathetic and assured me they had treated many PCOS sufferers and all had mind-blowing results at the end. I was aware that laser hair removal would be a procedure id need to undertake most probably for the rest of my life to ensure I am hair free. I was extremely pleased when they themselves, were honest with me and told me that I may need more treatments than necessary because of my condition.

From my initial consultation up until my most recent treatment (I’m on my 5th), I can honestly say visiting Chiltern Medical Clinic has been the best decision of my life. I’m so much more comfortable in my own skin and I actually look forward to each treatment!

Please share my story so other PCOS sufferers are assured that their traumatic symptoms can be resolved and they can take back control of their bodies!
