Skin Rejuvenation

Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure that uses laser waves to improve and enhance the appearance of the skin. It is most often performed on the face, neck, chest, and hands to erase the signs of aging.

Our lasers are clinically shown to reduce wrinkles and improve the tone of the skin by non-invasively stimulating new collagen production.

The type of response heard from patients is that they feel like their skin is lifted. There is a decrease in pore size, their skin feels tighter, and there is a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

By combining visible light (of the Aura laser) and infrared light (of the Lyra laser) we take care of noticeable coloration defects and also provide the skin toning, tightening, and textural improvement that patients are seeking. Non-invasive techniques for skin rejuvenation are being quickly established as a new standard in the treatment of mild wrinkles and overall skin toning. All patients show improvement after the treatment. It helps collagen tighten and tone, reducing sagging.

What are the benefits?

Skin Rejuvenation has the unique capacity to treat multiple symptoms of aging skin on your entire face in each treatment session. Among these are fine lines, red blemishes, mottled coloration, broken blood vessels, pigment discoloration such as freckles and age spots, enlarged pores, coarse or rough skin, loss of skin tone and elasticity, and general sun damage. The result is a fresher, smooth and revitalised facial appearance. It can also treat spots, discoloured areas and other tell-tale signs of aging on your hands, chest and neck.

How does it work?

The light is attracted to pigmented areas, where it is converted to heat, causing a break-up in the pigment. In the case of broken capillaries, the “pigment” is the red blood cells that are visible under the skin. The light and heat irritate the lining of the targeted vessels, causing inflammation and eventual destruction. Once destroyed, the capillaries can no longer carry blood, and no longer appear red. There is no harm in eliminating these vessels. A doctor will analyse your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you. Treatments are customised to your specific skin type and colour, providing the best possible results.

When will you see results?

Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some discoloration within a few days. Improvements to skin tone and texture will be more subtle and may take one to three months. Others may suggest that you look more rested. However, with each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improved appearance and texture you desire.

How often can you have it done?

A series of five treatments, spaced four weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal ongoing, lasting results.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness usually dissipates within 24 hours; however, darkened pigmentation may persist and peel lightly for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, tattoos may be lightened and hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to wear sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to reduce any potential side effects.

How long does it take?

This treatment takes approximately 30-60 minutes.
